Raise Service Request with USCIS
When you need to know where your case is from EAD perspective that time Service Request or Case Inquiry come in handy.
I called the USCIS customer care and talked with a USCIS representative. Having below things handy while on call will help both you and the representative.

- Receipt Number
- Date when Filed
- Petition
- Any existing EAD documents
The representative raised an SR for me and told the number as well. After that I call, I received the mail about inquiry in 7 days. If your email-id is registered with USCIS then you may also get an email. As per my knowledge they send mail/email once the SR is completed.
Note: If you have a kid around [basically any disturbance] or you think it is not possible for you to talk during business hours, you can do it online using https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do
All the best
